Perhaps you are getting hit with a lot of paging... that would explain the slow encoding and the hit to system responsiveness... though it doesn't explain why its using so much memory with a still image but not with actual video. How much ram do you have by the way? ... @CliffArmstrong it does actually produce correct audio and video but it is pretty much at snail's pace, i may look into automating it with melt but before that i will attempt memreduct\ ... The only solution seems to be to use Melt instead. After hours of losing my sanity trying to figure it out because Melt doesn't understand that you should give me the same quality and not 720x576 I finally came with this solution:However they seem to stress my system so hard: Task manager showing the FFmpeg is eating all my system resources and is running at snail's pace.ffmpeg will use all the resources it can get when encoding. The aberration isn't that. The aberration is that it takes a long time and bogs the system down. With a still image it should only have to encode every key frame... the in between frames would be null as no change from the previous frame has occurred.Note: Sorry for low quality of the image.
